Job Summary: The Chef at Wellingborough is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes that meet the specifications and expectations of customers. This role involves maintaining hygiene standards, ensuring safety regulations are followed, and collaborating effectively with the kitchen team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation and Cooking:

Prepare, cook, and present food according to the menu specifications and customer expectations.
Ensure all dishes are prepared with attention to detail, maintaining high standards of taste and presentation.
Assist in menu development, bringing creative ideas and executing seasonal changes to align with guest preferences and market trends.
Kitchen Operations:

Maintain hygiene levels and safety regulations in the kitchen to guarantee the safety of the team and visitors.
Operate kitchen equipment efficiently and safely.
Monitor portion control and maintain stock levels to minimise waste without compromising quality.
Team Collaboration:

Communicate clearly with the kitchen team to ensure high-quality meals are delivered to customers on time.
Foster a culture of teamwork, training, and development, mentoring junior chefs to enhance their skills.
Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and an elevated guest experience.
Health and Safety Compliance:

Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
Train and enforce best practices among kitchen staff, ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organisation to uphold a professional and efficient work environment.
Sustainability Initiatives:

Champion sustainability initiatives, focusing on local sourcing, waste reduction, and environmentally responsible practices.
Support efforts to reduce waste and improve environmental practices within the kitchen.
Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Chef in a high-end restaurant, luxury hotel, or lifestyle hospitality brand.
Experience in a 4-star or 5-star hospitality setting is preferred.
A strong guest-focused mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
Highly organised, with the ability to lead a team and work efficiently under pressure.
Basic understanding of health and safety in kitchens, including how to avoid cross-contamination and proper handling of hazardous substances.
