Full time- this would be suitable for anyone looking for full time work with the option of flexible work too.

Please note: To be able to work within this environment you must have enhanced DBS covering adult, child or both workforces, dated within the last 12 months or on the update service. If you don't have this we do have the facilities to process one for you at a cost.

We are currently looking to recruit several Enhanced DBS Chefs of all levels up to head chefs to support, our clients within retirement villages and care homes. You will be required to help and support the kitchens who need sickness support, general recruitment support, or due to increase business demand.

This role can offer flexibility of shifts, mixture of both days, evenings and occasional weekends along with great pay rates. Majority of the clients locations are close to public transport links, which makes it easier to get to and from work. The more flexible you are with travelling and the role you cover the more shifts and work we can offer. The ideal candidate will be working with fresh nutritious food adhering to dietary requirements.

Requirements and skills:

  • You will have extraordinary attention to detail
  • You will have knowledge of stock management and ordering position dependant.
  • You will enjoy working with different people
  • Have the ability and experience to manage and supervise a team
  • Have the ability to work within various environments
  • You will have the skills to manage small teams
  • You will be able to work under pressure and work with a variety of teams
  • You will enjoy being flexible and managing your own diary
  • You will be qualified within professional cookery to City & Guilds 706/1, 706/2 or equivalent
  • Level 2 food hygiene certificate within last 3 years and up to date allergens certificates.
  • You will have at least 2 years background working as a chef
  • Experience working within schools and care homes as a chef or a cook.
  • You will be Senior Chef De Partie level or above
  • You will have your own chef whites and knives

Working Hours:

You will be required to work a mixture of days, evenings and weekends. Majority of the shifts can start from 7/8am until around 4/6pm in the evening. We will work with you on your availability, to suit current commitments.

The working environment

Due to the various different types of site we cover your working environment will change from site to site. We will look to place you in the most comfortable environments for you. We currently do supply to contract catering sites, Hotels, Restaurants, pubs, cafes, Prisons, schools, academies, nurseries, and care homes, hotels, restaurants, golf clubs, event establishments, I am sure we have something to fit your experience and needs.

Main Duties

  • Work within a team to ensure jobs are completed for the day
  • Putting away deliveries.
  • Processing food orders
  • Oversea the whole kitchen operation
  • Complete all paperwork for each shift
  • Stock takes
  • Work with EHO on any improvements required.
  • Assist with the preparation of food & other areas of the kitchen including pot washing.
  • Adhering to all relevant health and safety requirements
  • Cooking nutritious food within requirements
  • Ensure a clean as you go policy is being operated at all times
  • Possibility of serving food
  • Possibility of till operation

The Commute:

As we cover a large number of locations across Staffordshire, Stoke on Trent your commute will vary. If you have a car and are flexible with locations, great. If you're limited to public transport, we'll only send you to places that have public transport links and provide you with all the information you will need to get there.
