We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our client, based in Belfast as a full-time Economist

Our client is Northern Ireland's Leading Public Sector Employer.

Rate of pay: £17.94

Location: Belfast

Hours: 37 Mon-Fri 9am - 5pm.

Duration: 51 weeks

Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Duties:

This is an opportunity to join a unique programme within the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, an executive Agency within Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs.

The Agency is seeking to fill the role of an Economist that requires specific skills and experience. Applicants are invited from candidates who meet the eligibility criteria, to apply for this opportunity.

Responsibilities:

* Undertaking and/or managing research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, economic assessments and best practice reviews.

* Economic support on programme development.

* Development of economic appraisals and business cases.

* Providing business case/procurement and post-project evaluation.

* Managing own resources to produce high quality, reliable and timely output.

Essential Experience & Qualifications required: * At least a second-class honours economics degree of which economics was a major component.*Major component is defined as: at least 50% of the course modules must be in economics


Desired Experience and Qualifications: Experience of the analysis, interpretation and report writing of economic assessments, preferably with an understanding of environmental issues
